Free MegaPack Update #25

Here are the thumbnail images for the brushes of the latest free MegaPack update (#25, version 15.1, Nov 27th).

WET OIL PAINT MIXER Brush

Aside from my new pencil and charcoal brushes, you’ll also find the WET OIL PAINT MIXER P4.1 in this update. It’s a pure color mixing brush I developed for digitally creating oil paintings from any reference photo or image:

In normal wet paint mode, this mixer brush doesn’t add color, it uses the existing colors of your source image. So you basically “move” around and mix the colors following forms, patterns, and structures. The WET OIL PAINT MIXER brush reacts to pen pressure, speed, and tilt. With a little practice, you can quickly apply thick, pasty strokes as well as redrawing little details and blending colors for soft gradients.

For comparison, here’s the original NASA photo of “The Needles” (Canyonlands National Park, Utah):

I also attached a low-resolution detail image of the print size oil painting where you can see the brush stroke details and color mixing qualities of this brush. I think it looks much more convincing than the results you can achieve by using other (oil paint) brushes as smudge tool. 😃

Of course, you can also use this versatile mixer brush for creating digital oil paintings of people, animals, architecture etc.

If you like, I’ll be happy to record a little demo video showing you the WET OIL PAINT MIXER in action.

Hope you enjoy the new brushes and find them useful! I’m very curious to see what you create with the new mixer brush. 😊

Happy Photo Painting!

PS: Cool new XMAS brushes are in the making for the upcoming free MegaPack updates #26 and #27… 😎
