December 20, 2017 Georg vW How to turn photos into oil paintings with Procreate (WET OIL PAINT MIXER Brush Demo: “Blue Horse”)Here’s a quick demo to show you how to use my new WET OIL PAINT MIXER brush for creating an oil painting from any photo or image in Procreate. (The brush is part of my free MegaPack update #25: gum.co/procreate. You can also download it as a stand-alone brush: gum.co/mixer-brush.) How to use the WET OIL PAINT MIXER brushIn normal wet paint mode (default), this mixer brush doesn’t add any color, it uses only the existing colors of your source image. So you basically “move” around and mix the colors following forms, patterns, and structures. The WET OIL PAINT MIXER brush reacts to pen pressure, speed, and tilt. With a little practice, you can quickly apply thick, pasty strokes as well as redrawing little details and blending colors for soft gradients.
