Sketching, Drawing & Coloring a Comic Page in Procreate (Complete Process Video)

For this comic page, I used my STORYBOOK PENCIL brush for sketching, inking, and details. For background, coloring, and shading I used the POSEIDON watercolor brush. 

  • I painted the watercolors on three separate layers (background, middle ground, shading) set to “multiply”. 
  • To add some gritty paper texture I imported a high-resolution scan as background image (75% opacity). 
  • To adjust the colors, I created an orange-brown layer on top of the watercolor layers set to “colorize” (25% opacity). 
  • I imported my custom Comic Font to Inkpad and copy/pasted the text blocks into Procreate.
